Biography
Ian McLagan (born Ian Patrick McLagan, and known as 'Mac', on 12 May 1945 in Hounslow, Middlesex, England; died in Austin, Texas, on 3 December 2014) was an English keyboard instrumentalist, best known as a member of the English rock bands Small Faces and Faces. He also collaborated with The Rolling Stones, released two albums under his own name, and led his own band, Ian McLagan & The Bump Band, from the late 1970s.
Along with a well deserved reputation in his earlier years as a hard partying "Little Troublemaker" beginning with the Small Faces, and The Faces, McLagan's soulful organ playing was highly regarded and he contributed to best selling albums by a wide range of well known acts including The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Thin Lizzy, Bonnie Raitt, Billy Bragg, Jackson Browne, Bob Dylan Paul Westerberg and Bruce Springsteen.
