History Крихітка

Крихітка (Krykhitka, or Kryhitka) is Ukrainian band formed in 2007 in Kyiv, Ukraine by members of popular band “Krykhitka Tsakhes” (uk.: Крихітка Цахес) singer-songwriter Kasha Saltsova and Mykola Matkovsky while their band took a break after their guitarist’s death of cancer. At the moment Krykhitka names among their key influences the old grunge and trip-hop bands and variety of contemporary artist from Black Keys to Antony and the Johnsons – “we are addicted to the radio podcasts and LastFm”. In the debut album Krykhitka combines noisy melodramatic anthems with sarcastic post-punk tracks and soft semi-acoustic love-songs. Krykhitka consign themselves to indie-rock generation and goes on exploring the live-performing edges with the electronic experiments on stage using vocal processors and samplers. The band also became one of the most popular Ukrainian indie-performers due to unpredictable choice of venues – they’ve already played in old greenhouse in Botanical Garden, closed cinema and museums. Their debut album Рецепт (“Retsept”, “The Prescription”), recorded in collaboration with the musical producers Yury Houstochka and Dmitry Shurov from Esthetic Education already appeared in net. The members of the band are also eco-activists that provided first Ukrainian shopping ecobags in Ukrainian society and support the ecological projects of WWF and UN foundations.
