Biography
Stanton Miranda takes multi-tasking to extremes: singer/songwriter/actor/performance artist. Her avant-garde pop and folk-tinged songs contain elements which both settle, and unease. Besides being a solo singer/songwriter and one half of new-wave art band Thick Pigeon; New York-based Miranda also played in the band CKM, put together by visual artist Dan Graham, with Christine Hahn (ex Malaria) and Kim Gordon (later of Sonic Youth).
After the club-friendly single Wheels Over Indian Trails in 1986, released as Stanton Miranda, it would be seven years before Miranda and Thick Pigeon collaborator Carter Burwell reconvened for the delightful 'Miranda Dali' album, released by Crepuscule in 1991.
