History
Chasing Jones, a five piece pop rock band, has defined themselves with high energy performances, catchy lyrics and steady grooves. "This is another act that has the modern edge, but embraces melody and harmony and some solid hooks to take this into ‘yay’ territory” writes Bob Segarini, an apt description of a band who has dedicated themselves to crafting modern hits with shades of the pop rock that defined a generation in the 1990’s.
In 2008 Chasing Jones independently released their first EP “The Lie” to a sold out release party at the Starlite Room in Edmonton. In the fall of 2009 the band returned to the studio to record their second EP entitled “Stay Tonight” which was released in early 2010. Garnering great reviews and already showing a marked growth in song crafting, the EP showcases the bands pop sensibilities and mature storytelling. Almost immediately, radio friendly cuts like “Anniversary” and “Amelia” were picked up by both mainstream and college radio stations across Canada. The band’s name and distinct sound became recognized on the local and national music scene. Riding the success of the EP, Chasing Jones embarked on their first cross Canada tour culminating in a showcase at Canadian Music Week. Not ones to rest on their laurels, Chasing Jones have already begun work on their third studio effort to be recorded in late 2011. This time the band will be setting up shop in Los Angeles to provide fans with a full length album that builds on the virtues of the first two EP’s.
