Biography

The Professor, he was so aptly called. A many faceted man of influencial significance in the 60s and 70s more closely associated with the Motown sound musicians who also made himself readily available to younger inspiring musicians through a Mini Conservatory called Metro Arts in the early 70s, allowing many of our recognized artists and musicians to have professional exposure through Detroit entertainment venues many would otherwise not have access to for many years of training elsewhere. Together with other such Detroit jazz greats of this era, Teddy Harris, Sam Saunders, Marcus Belgrave, James Allen, Ed Pickens, Charles Harris, any many others contributed to this school of preparation making Metro Arts the hidden secret behind the drive of success of the motown trained performers of that time, Many who trained under these instructors have went on to this day performing and enjoying their love of music and sharing it with audiences worldwide. Play a note the professor could tell you what it was, play a chord, doesn't matter make up one, he'll come behind you and play the same exact chord note for note. A musician who not only could then but still can today express his music to any jazz enthusiasts and leave an awestrucked impression with the seasoned or inspiring musician.
