Helmut „Joe “Sachse (* 28 October 1948 in Mittweida) is a German jazz guitarist.

Sachse studied from 1973 to 1978 at the university for music Weimar. Already early it arose in different groups of Manfred Schulze. Center of the 1970er it created its own quartet, which extended soon to the Quintett Osiris, Manfred herring, Hannes Zerbe, to which bassist Christoph angle and tungsten DIX belonged. Osiris went with Charlie Mariano and Toto bright one on GDR tour. It played end of the 1970er in the duo with Uwe Kropinski, which with Hannes and Conny farmer was extended later to the Doppelmoppel (record 1980) and on numerous international festivals, approximately on the Moers festival played; in this group and with solo projects Sachse seized also to the transverse flute. It played beginning of the 1980er in Heinz Becker Group (record 1982), and with seriousness Ludwig Petrowsky, Heinz Becker and Klaus cook in the quartet, in addition, in the Trio with Petrowsky and in the duo with Manfred herring. In the further he worked with George Lewis, David Moss, John Tchicai, Maggie Nicols, Peter Kowald, Fred Van Hove, Paul Rutherford and Peter Brötzmann.
