Biography

Julie Driscoll (born on 8 June 1947 in London, England; married name Julie Tippetts on some of her recordings) is an English singer and actress, best known for her UK hit 1960s cover versions of Bob Dylan's "This Wheel's on Fire", and Donovan's "Season of the Witch", both with Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & The Trinity. She has also recorded as Julie Tippetts, Brian Auger & Julie Tippetts, and Maggie Nicols & Julie Tippetts. Between 2009 and 2015, she recorded four albums with British jazz musician Martin Archer.

Tippetts and Auger had previously worked together beginning in 1964 in the band The Steampacket, with Long John Baldry and Rod Stewart. Driscoll later re-recorded "This Wheel's On Fire" in the 1990's as the theme to the hit tv program "Absolutely Fabulous", a popular BBC comedy series still in syndication.
