History Marilyn Mazur's Future Song

Marilyn Mazur's FUTURE SONG was formed in march 1989 right after Marilyn left Miles Davis' band.

This was the dream project that she had been fantasizing about during the intensive touring with Miles.

The original '89 line-up was Aina Kemanis, voice; Palle Mikkelborg, trumpet; Jon Balke, keyboards; Elvira Plenar, keyboards; Klavs Hovman, basses; Audun Kleive, drums and Marilyn Mazur drums, percussion, marimba, keyboards and vocals.

After the initial tour of Denmark, Germany and Switzerland Nils Petter Molvær took Palle Mikkelborgs place except for the concert at the renowned rock festival in Roskilde '89.

Jon Balke left the group after Roskilde, so the line-up was down to 1 keyboard player.

In 1991 Hans Ulrik joined the group on saxes and flutes, and gradually took over Nils Petter's space, as Nils Petter formed his own project Khmer.

1992 was the year guitarplayer Eivind Aarset came in the band and completed todays line-up: Aina Kemanis, voice; Hans Ulrik, sax & flute; Elvira Plenar, keyboards; Eivind Aarset, guitar; Klavs Hovman, bass; Audun Kleive, drums and Marilyn Mazur, percussion and voice.
