Bobby Previte & The New Bump

Infamous NYC based drummer Bobby Previte was brought up playing soul and rock music in the old bars,clubs, and bordellos of Niagara Falls, NY, Previte later studied formally at the University of Buffalo, which boasted influential instructors like John Cage, and Lucas Foss. Escaping the Love Canal disaster zone, Previte wisely moved to New York City in 1979, and became a part of the burgeoning "Downtown" scene, and never looked back. For decades he has been widely hailed for his electrifying drumming and his stunning, unclassifiable composition skills. His ongoing musical journey has led him through festivals around the world including Montreux, North Sea, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Rio de Janiero, Sydney, Hong Kong, Berlin, and Paris and into films ( including a cameo role in Robert Altman's film, SHORT CUTS) and television (including a skit on SNL drumming alongside William Shatner. Lately he's started his New Bump Band and been known for performing in ensembles with leading musical innovators like Charlie Hunter, John Medeski, Nels Cline and Skerik.
