THE AMBER LIGHT is regarded as the new hope for german prog, this is what you can read in several german prog magazines like "Eclipsed" or "Empire Magazine" or on different homepages dealing with our common passion: Prog.
Their style can be described as a mixture between PORCUPINE TREE, SIGUR ROS, RADIOHEAD, PINK FLOYD and TALK TALK. But you will also discover some similarities to VdGG or early GENESIS. Luis Gabbiani himself names some of these bands as major impacts. But the most important thing is that their music is open for so many different influences and so the band refuses to limit themselves by sticking to one specific genre. Their style is often said to be "New Art Rock" but I don't think that this term can picture all of their elements. The band consists of four members: Luis Gabbiani (vocals, keyboards and guitars), Jan Sydow (guitars), Rabin Dasgupta (bass) and Peter Ederer (drums), all of them just about 20 years of age. One thing that stands out is for sure Luis Gabbiani's fine voice, you will hear him sing english as well as italian, both perfectly. Besides the guitar work that is partly acoustic the keyboards can be seen as the main part of the music.
