History
Alexis Taylor is a British musician best known as the lead vocalist, keyboardist, guitarist, percussionist, and pianist for the electro-pop band Hot Chip. He is also a solo artist and the keyboardist for the improvisational group About Group.
Solo Career and About Group
Following the release of Hot Chip's second album, The Warning, in 2006, Taylor launched his solo career. His debut solo album, Rubbed Out, was released in 2008. In the same year, he formed About Group with John Coxon of Spring Heel Jack, Pat Thomas, and drummer Charles Hayward.
Subsequent Releases
Taylor released the solo EP Nayim From The Halfway Line on Domino Records in 2012. The label also issued his album Await Barbarians in 2014. In June 2016, he released Piano, his third full-length solo album, which, as the title suggests, is primarily piano-based.
