Andrea Bocelli, born in Lajatico, Tuscany, Italy, in 1958, is a celebrated Italian tenor, multi-instrumentalist, and classical crossover artist. Despite being born with poor eyesight, a childhood accident at age twelve led to his complete blindness. This personal challenge did not diminish his profound connection to music, which he began cultivating at a young age.
Growing up on a farm in rural Tuscany, Bocelli's musical journey started with piano lessons at six, later expanding to include the flute and saxophone. While his musical talents were evident, he initially pursued legal studies at the University of Pisa, earning a Doctor of Law degree. However, the call of music proved irresistible, inspiring him to study with the renowned tenor Franco Corelli and perform in piano bars to support himself.
