History

Dame Shirley Veronica Bassey (born January 8, 1937) is a Welsh singer celebrated for her powerful voice and glamorous stage presence. She is most famously recognized for recording the theme songs to three James Bond films: Goldfinger (1964), Diamonds Are Forever (1971), and Moonraker (1979). This distinction makes her the only artist to have performed more than one Bond theme.

Bassey's career spans decades, solidifying her status as a national treasure in Britain and an international music icon. Her enduring popularity was highlighted by the 2006 television special, 'An Audience with Dame Shirley Bassey,' and her participation in Marks & Spencer's Christmas advertising campaign that same year, where she covered P!nk's 'Get the Party Started.'

In late 2009, she released 'The Performance,' her first studio album in twenty years, to considerable anticipation. Bassey currently resides in Monaco.
