Geoffrey Royce Rojas, known professionally as Prince Royce, was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. His parents hail from the Dominican Republic, the birthplace of bachata. Growing up, he was raised by his mother and siblings following his parents' divorce. A passionate singer from a young age, Prince Royce gained industry attention after re-recording the classic song "Stand By Me." This led to a record deal and the release of numerous successful tracks.
Among his most recognized hits are his renditions of "Stand By Me" and his original song "Corazón Sin Cara." His musical achievements have been acknowledged with two Latin Grammy Awards. In recognition of his societal contributions and his role as a positive influence on the youth of his hometown, August 9, 2018, was proclaimed "Prince Royce Day" in New York by Mayor Bill de Blasio.
