History
Different Teep
Different Teep was a French rap group formed by Manu Key, Lil Jahson, and Mista Flo. They were also founding members of the influential French hip-hop collective Mafia K'1 Fry.
Formation and Style
Prior to forming Different Teep, Manu Key and Lil Jahson were part of the group Posse Ideal in the late 1980s. Mista Flo later joined them, completing the lineup for Different Teep. Lil Jahson's musical style, which blended ragga and rap, created a complementary dynamic within the trio.
Discography and Mafia K'1 Fry
The group released their debut maxi, "La route est longue," in 1995, followed by their first album, "La rime urbaine," in 1997. Their music video for "Maintenant ou jamais" was the first to be released by Mafia K'1 Fry. Different Teep also contributed to the collective's first EP, "Les liens sacrés."
Legacy
Different Teep disbanded after releasing two albums. Manu Key and Mista Flo went on to pursue solo careers, while Lil Jahson retired from music.
