Kid Francescoli is the electro-pop project founded by Marseille-based musician Mathieu Hocine in 2000. Originally a solo venture, the project expanded into a collaborative ensemble with the addition of vocalist Laetitia Abello, keyboardist David Borras, and bassist Olivier Scalia. The group began performing live in 2004, establishing a presence in the French indie music scene through their early club dates and festival appearances.

The project is characterized by its focus on melody and intimate lyrical themes. Writing in both English and Italian, Hocine explores the complexities of early adulthood, ranging from youthful uncertainty to the introspective reflections of a woman approaching her thirties. Musically, Kid Francescoli draws significant inspiration from the atmospheric textures of Air and the indie-rock sensibilities of Grandaddy.
