Connie Burton, the sister of late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, has passed away. Her death occurred earlier this week, following the launch of a medical fundraiser to assist her in late June.

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich discussed the band’s upcoming Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas during an interview with U2 guitarist The Edge on SiriusXM.

On March 19, 2026, the American Red Cross announced its global partnership with METALLICA has successfully collected 40,000 blood donations since April 2025.

Perhaps the most telling statistic is that only six 2017 releases figured among the top selling metal (as defined by Metal Insider) albums for the first half of 2017.
