History
Fox Stevenson, born Stanley Stevenson Byrne and formerly known as Stan SB, is an electronic music producer from Leeds, UK. He is primarily recognized for his contributions to the drum and bass and dubstep genres.
Since 2008, Fox Stevenson has been producing what he describes as "hyper melodic drum and bass, dubstep and breaky stuff." He often performs his own vocals, creating music that blends the accessibility of club-focused production with the emotional depth of a singer-songwriter. Drawing inspiration from beyond traditional dance music, including his pop-punk background, his work often transcends genre boundaries, resulting in tracks that fuse diverse styles without adhering strictly to any single one.
Early Career and Rise to Prominence
Stevenson's journey into electronic music production began in the early 2000s, with his initial releases appearing on the website Newgrounds. He was around 15 or 16 years old when he produced his first vocal track. His music gained significant traction within the YouTube music community, and later, through the influential drum and bass label Liquicity, which featured "Cloudhead," one of his early tracks under the Stan SB moniker.
Independent Releases and Debut Album
In 2014, Fox Stevenson launched his own record label, Cloudhead Records, releasing the EP All This Time under the new imprint that same year. His debut album, Killjoy, was released on October 18, 2019.
He has also performed live band sets, notably with fellow artist Bustre during his earlier career.
