Still Breathing emerged as a formidable force in the heavy music scene, blending elements of hardcore, atmospheric metal, and sheer metallic aggression. Their sound draws comparisons to the raw energy of Turmoil and Vision of Disorder, the introspective moods of Deftones, and the technical brutality of Sepultura and Meshuggah. Despite being a relatively new band, Still Breathing quickly crafted an album that belied their short tenure.
Vocalist Dacey commands attention with a powerful growl that exceeds expectations, delivering songs like "Sweet Wound Sour" and "Forsaken" with intense, manic angst. Guitarist Bob Hensley provides savage riffs that anchor the rhythm section, comprised of John Hensley on drums and Michael Rame on bass, who deliver pummeling grooves.
