Natalie and Nicole Albino, identical twin sisters born in New York City, perform as the R&B duo Nina Sky. Of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent, the twins were raised in Queens and on Roosevelt Island. Their stepfather, a DJ, exposed them to a wide range of musical styles, fostering their early passion for music. By age seven, they had written their first song, and by ten, they were set on a career in singing.
Their parents actively supported their ambitions, with their stepfather providing guitar and drum lessons and accompanying them to auditions and performances. The name "Nina Sky" was conceived by combining the first two syllables of their names, "Ni" and "Na," with "Sky" representing their aspiration for limitless potential. Alongside their schooling, they honed their skills as DJs.
