Toms Burkovskis, known professionally as Tobu, is a Latvian electronic dance music producer celebrated for his infectious melodies and uplifting soundscapes. His music, predominantly instrumental, resides in the Progressive House and Melodic House genres. Tracks such as "Candyland," "Hope," "Sunburst," "Cloud 9," and "Colors" have garnered millions of streams and views across platforms like Spotify and YouTube, and are frequently featured by content creators worldwide.
Prior to his music career, Burkovskis worked as a freelance web developer, proficient in PHP, SQL, HTML, and CSS. He began his music production journey in 2010, inspired by artists like Avicii and deadmau5. Despite lacking formal musical training, Tobu developed a keen ear for melody and harmony through self-study, enabling him to improvise and craft his signature sound. Consistent daily uploads to SoundCloud, met with growing positive feedback, fueled his drive to release music and connect with a broader audience. His work gained significant traction through YouTube promotional channels before he was signed by NCS in 2013, leading to a series of highly successful releases.
