Kany García

Encarnita "Kany" García De Jesus, born September 25, 1982, in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter. García gained initial national recognition in 2004 as a contestant on the reality television show Objetivo Fama. Despite not winning, she is widely regarded as the most successful contestant in the show's history.

Born to a Spanish father and a Puerto Rican mother, García grew up in a musically rich environment. Her father, Antonio, had left the priesthood to marry her mother, Shela. Kany, the youngest of three siblings, began her classical music education at a young age, studying cello, music theory, solfeggio, and chorus. At 13, she enrolled at the Escuela Libre de Música, where she discovered her passion for the guitar, later pursuing further studies at Puerto Rico's Conservatorio de Música.
