Lift to Experience is an American rock band formed in Denton, Texas, in 1996. The original lineup featured vocalist and guitarist Josh T. Pearson, drummer Andy Young, and bassist Josh Browning.
The band's distinctive sound and powerful live performances caught the attention of Simon Raymonde and Robin Guthrie of the record label Bella Union. Following a notable performance at the SXSW festival in 2000, Raymonde and Guthrie were so impressed that they signed Lift to Experience to Bella Union that same day.
