Hailing from Bloomington, Indiana, Landlord is a garage-punk outfit that channels the spirit of 90s alternative rock. The band features Chris and Matte from The Door-Keys alongside Will from Defiance Ohio, creating a sound that draws comparisons to Dinosaur Jr. Their music is characterized by haunting melodies, beautiful harmonies, and a dynamic range that blends the laid-back groove of Neil Young with the intricate key shifts of The Zombies. Guitarists will appreciate the J Mascis-esque shredding, while fans of pop-punk will recognize the foundations laid by The Door-Keys.
Landlord's songwriting is rooted in a midwest small-town sensibility, offering flawless compositions with a perfect pop sensibility and raw punk energy. Their influences are a rich tapestry, including the vibes of Meat Puppets and Teenage Fanclub. The trio's sound is a compelling fusion of classic alternative rock elements with a distinct punk edge.
