Fuzz Face is the solo project of Jim Moginie, a foundational member, guitarist, keyboardist, and principal songwriter for the Australian rock band Midnight Oil.
The project's debut, a four-track EP titled Fuzz Face, was recorded in 1996 within a home studio setting. Moginie collaborated with Nick Launay, who had previously produced for Midnight Oil. Notably, fellow Midnight Oil guitarist Martin Rotsey made a contribution to the EP under the alias 'The Family Dog'. This moniker would later be adopted by Moginie for his live ensemble, 'Jim Moginie and The Family Dog', a playful nod to the band Sly and the Family Stone.
