History
Hocico is a prominent Mexican dark electro band, widely recognized within the aggrotech subgenre. Founded in Mexico City in 1993 by Erk Aicrag (lyrics and vocals) and Racso Agroyam (programming), the duo had been exploring electronic music together since their teenage years. The stage names Erk Aicrag and Racso Agroyam are anagrams of their birth names, Erik Garcia and Oscar Mayorga.
The band's musical style is characterized by its dark and aggressive electronic sound, fitting squarely into the aggrotech classification. While their lyrics are predominantly in English, Spanish is also occasionally featured.
Hocico's distinctive logo is a six-legged spider bearing an "H" on its back. The band's name, "Hocico," is a Spanish word, pronounced "Oseeko," which translates to "snout." It is often used as a derogatory term to describe ugliness, akin to comparing someone's appearance to that of a dog's snout.
Beyond Hocico, Racso Agroyam is also known for his side project, Dulce Liquido. Erk Aicrag pursues his solo endeavors under the moniker Rabia Sorda.
