Set It Off
Set It Off is an American rock band formed in Tampa, Florida, in 2008. The current lineup features Cody Carson on lead vocals and guitar, Zach Dewall on guitar, bass, and vocals, and Maxx Danziger on drums. The band initially cultivated a significant following through Cody Carson's YouTube channel.
Musical Evolution and Key Releases
The band first gained widespread recognition with their 2014 album, Duality, particularly the song "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing." This track achieved considerable popularity on social media platforms, becoming a staple in various online fandoms. Set It Off's musical style has evolved over their career. Beginning with pop-punk, they incorporated R&B influences on Duality. Later albums, such as 2019's Midnight, explored further genre experimentation, including elements of hip-hop and emo. In 2023, the band signaled a return to their pop-punk roots with the release of singles like "Punching Bag," "Win Win," "Evil People," and "Fake Ass Friends."
Further singles were released throughout 2023 and 2024. The 2025 single "Rotten" preceded the announcement of their self-titled album, Set It Off. This album includes the previously released singles (excluding the collaboration "Win Win" with Scene Queen) along with four new tracks: "Switch," "What's In It For Me?," "Vicious Cycle," and the closing track, "Worst Case Scenarios."
