LANDMVRKS: A Force in Modern Metalcore

Formed in 2014, the French metalcore band LANDMVRKS has carved a significant niche in the international music scene. Initially conceived as "Coldsight" by Florent Salfati and Nicolas Soriano, the band's early days saw Salfati, who was initially slated to be the guitarist, step into the role of vocalist due to a lack of suitable candidates. With Rudy Purkart on bass and Thomas Lebreton on guitar, the core lineup began to take shape. Nicolas Exposito soon joined as the second guitarist, and the band rebranded as "Landmarks," later refining the spelling to the distinctive "LANDMVRKS."

Early Years and Breakthrough

The band's formative years were marked by a series of singles and significant live performances. In 2015, they made their debut at the Deadbolt Festival in Manchester, UK. A year later, in 2016, LANDMVRKS released their self-produced debut album, Hollow, on May 10th. That same year also saw their inaugural performance at the renowned Hellfest, the recording of which was subsequently released as the live EP, Live at Hellfest.

Signing with Arising Empire and Growing Momentum

The band's trajectory accelerated in 2018 when they signed with the German label Arising Empire. This partnership led to the release of their second album, Fantasy, on May 2nd, 2018. The early part of 2019 brought a lineup change, with founding drummer Nicolas Soriano departing the band and being replaced by Kévin D'Agostino. Later that year, LANDMVRKS embarked on European tours alongside Any Given Day and performed in Japan, supporting Polaris. A planned 2020 European tour was postponed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Chart Success and Collaborations

In 2021, LANDMVRKS released their third studio album, Lost in the Waves, which achieved a notable chart position at number 17 in the German album charts. The album's success was further amplified with the release of a deluxe edition, Lost in the Waves (The Complete Edition), in March 2022. This expanded version featured live tracks and new songs with notable guest appearances from artists such as Drew York (Stray From The Path), Bertrand Poncet (Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!), and Anthony Diliberto (Resolve).

Recent Tours and Future Releases

The fall of 2022 saw LANDMVRKS undertake their first tour of the United States, sharing the stage with Miss May I. The band is set to release their fourth studio album, The Darkest Place I've Ever Been, on April 25, 2025.
