Mansun and Early Career
Draper was a founding member of Mansun, alongside bassist Stove King and guitarist Dominic Chad. After the band's dissolution, Draper contributed to Paul Oakenfold's 2002 album Bunkka, co-writing and performing on the trance track "Descent." He also compiled and mixed material from Mansun's unfinished fourth album for its inclusion in the Kleptomania box set in 2004.
Solo Endeavors and Collaborations
In October 2005, Draper co-wrote and co-produced "Alone in My Room," a single by Skin (formerly of Skunk Anansie), marking his first musical project since Kleptomania. He also contributed to other tracks on Skin's second album. Draper's production work extended to the Derby band Komakino and the 2006 Ibiza anthem "Exceeder" with Dutch DJ Mason.
Health and Solo Project
On May 16, 2006, Draper revealed on his website that he had been diagnosed with malignant cancer in his middle finger during the recording of Kleptomania. Following successful chemotherapy, he began writing and recording for a solo project, sharing updates with fans through online diary entries.
