Shakira Adds Three New Madrid Dates to European Residency
Shakira has expanded her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour residency in Madrid by adding three new performances scheduled for September 18, 19, and 20.

Expansion of the Madrid Residency
Organizers released new details on Monday, March 23, regarding the expansion of
Shakira upcoming residency in Spain. Originally scheduled for Sept. 25, 26 and 27, the residency will now include three additional nights on Sept. 18, 19 and 20. This update brings the total to six performances in Madrid as part of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.
The residency will be hosted at a temporary venue known as "Shakira Stadium," located in the Villaverde district in the south of Madrid. The venue is designed to accommodate more than 50,000 attendees per night. Architect Agustín Pérez Torres, one of the primary designers for the project, explained that the facility is built under the concept “Es Latina.”
"It’s more like a city, not just a stadium."

The construction of the site is expected to be completed within a few weeks, though the timeline remains subject to planning and permits. Pérez Torres noted that while all concerts are typically set up in "record time," this specific project involves extensive work beyond the stage, including the creation of outdoor spaces and pathways to manage the large audience.
Macondo Park and Cultural Programming
As a central component of the temporary installation, organizers will create Macondo Park. This 37-acre space is designed to remain active before, during, and after each concert. The park will feature a variety of cultural experiences, including live music, art, and gastronomy. A specific area named Macondito has been developed for children, a project conceived alongside Shakira’s sons, Milan and Sasha.
The residency is positioned as a broad cultural format where Madrid will serve as a meeting point for creators and artists from both Latin America and Europe. The scheduled programming is set to combine music, film, fashion, and contemporary art. While the full schedule of events will not be announced until July, organizers have indicated that Shakira intends to invite various friends and collaborators to participate throughout the six nights.
The venue will also feature a second stage, which is intended to provide a platform for emerging talent and host surprise guest appearances. Pino Sagliocco, the president of Live Nation Spain and the promoter of the event, emphasized the significance of the project and its scale, which will require the hiring of hundreds of people.

Record-Breaking Tour Statistics
The European residency arrives during the final leg of a tour that has reached historic financial milestones. According to data reported to Billboard Boxscore, the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has become the highest-grossing tour of all time by a Hispanic artist. The trek has grossed $421.6 million and sold a total of 3.3 million tickets across 86 shows.
This momentum follows a record-breaking run in Mexico City, where Shakira performed 13 sold-out dates at the GNP Seguros Stadium, surpassing 800,000 tickets sold. The Mexican leg of the tour concluded on March 1 with a historic free concert at the Zócalo square, which attracted an audience of 400,000 people.
Before the artist arrives in Spain for her September dates, she is scheduled to perform on May 2 at Copacabana beach in Brazil. Organizers for the Brazilian event are expecting an audience of at least 1 million people.
