Social Media Return and Family Time

The 44-year-old pop superstar returned to social media on Friday, March 27, sharing a video on Instagram that featured her dancing in a mirror. In the clip, the five-time Billboard Hot 100-topping singer is joined by her 19-year-old son, Jayden Federline. During the video, Spears can be heard commenting on her own demeanor while striking various poses.

"I’m composed, I’m being very composed,"

As Spears recorded the footage, her son Jayden was seen performing a Michael Jackson impression while wearing a white fedora. Spears accompanied the video with a caption expressing gratitude to her followers and highlighting the importance of her inner circle. The post, which had comments disabled, accumulated nearly 200,000 likes by press time. Spears later shared a second post with similar footage and a shorter message accompanied by a rose emoji.

"Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing. Stay kind !!!"

Details of the Ventura County Arrest

The arrest occurred on March 4 in Ventura County, California. According to a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP), authorities received a report at approximately 8:48 p.m. regarding a black BMW 430i driving erratically at a high rate of speed on southbound US-101. Officers located the vehicle near Westlake Boulevard and initiated an enforcement stop.

The CHP reported that Spears, who was the solo occupant of the vehicle, showed signs of impairment and underwent a series of field sobriety tests. She was subsequently taken into custody for a violation of California Vehicle Code section 23152(g), which pertains to driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol. The arrest time was recorded as 9:30 p.m. by Rolling Stone and 9:28 p.m. PT by Billboard.

There are conflicting reports regarding the specific timing of her booking and release. Rolling Stone states that Spears was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail at 3 a.m. on March 4 and released at 6 a.m. that same morning. However, Billboard reports that she was booked by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and released from custody the following morning, March 5, at approximately 6:07 a.m. PT. The singer’s arrest was categorized as a "cite and release."

Statements from Representation and Recovery Plans

A representative for Spears provided a statement to both Rolling Stone and Billboard addressing the incident and the singer's future steps. The representative characterized the event as a serious lapse but noted that Spears intends to cooperate fully with authorities and seek necessary changes in her life.

"This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable… Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."

The representative further detailed that Spears would be focusing on her family and her personal well-being through a structured support system.

"Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being."

Legal History and Upcoming Court Appearance

The recent DUI arrest is not the singer's first encounter with legal issues involving a vehicle. In 2007, Spears turned herself in following a hit-and-run incident in Los Angeles where she struck a parked car. That specific case was eventually dismissed.

Following her release from custody this month, Spears is scheduled to appear at the Ventura County Superior Court on May 4 to address the current charges.
