She is known for her world music compositions, which often feature Celtic and Middle Eastern influences. McKennitt operates independently as her own manager, producer, and head of her record label, Quinlan Road.
Over a recording career spanning three decades, McKennitt's distinctive "eclectic Celtic" sound has garnered international critical acclaim and achieved significant sales, with gold, platinum, and multi-platinum certifications in fifteen countries across four continents.
